Germany: FFP2 masks become mandatory in Bavaria shops, on public transport
Wearing FFP2 masks on public transport and in shops became mandatory in the German state of Bavaria, as filmed in Munich on Monday.
The latest anti-COVID measure applies to all residents from the age of fifteen.
‘‘Well, I have the impression that it makes sense. When you listen around you hear how unmerciful this virus is, then I think we can hide quite well behind the mask,'' said Christopher Eisele, a commuter in Munich.
The FFP2 masks have a stronger filter capacity than many other types such as the FFP1.
Bavarian Minister-President Markus Soder said that for now police will be more lenient towards residents not wearing FFP2 masks but warned that fines will apply next week.
