Germany: Memorial holding ashes of Holocaust victims stirs emotions in Berlin
An art installation featuring a pillar reported to contain the mortal ashes of victims of the National Socialist German Workers Party, has been erected in front of the Bundestag, in Berlin, as footage from Tuesday shows.
The Center for Political Beauty, the activist group which installed a temporary column to commemorate the victims of far-right extremism, stated that the column holds a soil sample which contains the human remains of Nazi victims.
The art installation has been received with some criticism, as some members of the Jewish community have labelled it as "insensitive" and "disgusting." The pillar is accompanied by a grave and a plaque with the name of German Politicians who have been invited to come and participate in the debate.
