Israel: Netanyahu supporters slam 'dirty' investigation at Tel Aviv demo
Thousands of supporters of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flooded the streets of Tel Aviv on Tuesday, claiming that the leader is "innocent," following corruption indictment.
People waved Israeli flags and Netanyahu banners. Prime minister's supporters were convinced that he should stay in power until the court brings the final verdict.
"A dirty, false and twisted investigation, in order to take down the prime minister. Will we be silent? Will we be afraid that we will be the next ones? We will fight," said member of Netanyahu's Likud party, Makhlouf "Miki" Zohar.
Netanyahu was charged with bribery, fraud and breach of trust in connection with three separate cases. The politician denied the charges and said that they were part of a political 'witch-hunt' to remove him from power.
