
Albania: Hotel collapses after 6.4-magnitude earthquake hits Durres
At least six people died and hundreds more were injured after a powerful 6.4-magnitude earthquake hit close to the Albanian capital Tirana and surrounding region in the early hours of Tuesday.
Footage shows the remains of Hotel Palma and damaged cars in the port town of Durres, some 37 kilometres (23 miles) from the Albanian capital.
The country's defence ministry said firefighters and army staff are helping residents trapped under the rubble of collapsed buildings.
This is the second strong quake to hit the Balkan country in the last two months. The epicentre was 10 kilometres (6 miles) northwest of a small town of Shijak, between Durres and Tirana.
