Hong Kong: Protesters disrupt traffic, blockade central road in financial hub
Transit in Hong Kong was disrupted for the third day in a row, as protesters blocked the whole extension of the approximately one-kilometre-long Des Voeux Road Central on Wednesday, as part of the general strike.
Footage shows bricks spread over and around tram lines, as well as barricades and a fence placed at some points of the road. Protesters are seen transporting more pieces of wood to heighten the barriers.
Hong Kong has been rocked by protests sparked by a now-withdrawn extradition bill since March. The rallies have since evolved into a wider movement against the government, marked by violent clashes between protesters and the authorities.
