
Spain: King Felipe and Queen Letizia welcome home world champ basketball team
Spain's national basketball team was welcomed back to Spain by King Felipe VI of Spain and his wife, Queen Letizia, in Madrid on Monday, after having just won the FIBA Basketball World Cup against Argentina in Beijing the day before.
The team can be seen being greeted by airport staff and applauded by the aircraft crew as they disembarked in Madrid. They were cheered on by numerous fans before making their way to the Zarzuela Palace.
There, they shook hands with the King and Queen of Spain and took a group photo together.
Spain defeated Argentina 95-75 to secure their second world title since its triumph against Greece in Japan in 2006.
