Tunisia: PM Youssef Chahed holds final rally ahead of election
Incumbent Prime Minister of Tunisia and Presidential candidate Youssef Chahed held his final rally in the city of Benzart on Thursday, ahead of the country's presidential elections.
Footage shows a cheerful and confident candidate, who spoke to the press and talked to his supporters, before heading to the rally where hundreds of supporters voiced their support for him.
"There is not really a direct rival, there are 26 candidates, there is a dispersion of votes. In my opinion the president will be Youssef Chahed, I believe in him and he will be the key of Tunisia" said Halim Dridi.
"The ambiance is wonderful, it's new in our country. Unfortunately we get to know it on this age, now there is freedom," said Zohra, a Chahed supporter.
The Tunisian Presidential elections are set to take place on 15 September 2019, the second elections since the Jasmine revolution in 2010-2011 which saw president Zine El Abidine Ben Ali removed from office.
