Protests took place in Hong Kong's Causeway Bay shopping district on Sunday.

A police officer was seen firing a canister during the demonstrations. Medics were also seen treating injured protesters and journalists.

One protester called on the US government "to pass the 'Democracy act' [Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act] against those Chinese and Hong Kong officials who suppress the human rights of the Hong Kong people."
