Rise of the machine: Chinese toy designer makes real-life Hornet transformer
Chinese toy designer Wang Yanbing demonstrated a giant transformer made from a broken car in his backyard in Xiangyang on Sunday.
It took him 8 months and around 9,000 euros to make a mechanism that turns a used car into Hornet transformer with the help of remote control.
The designer said he was a fan of the Transformers TV series. "I was inspired by these two toys. The structure of my Transformer is similar to this toy but mine is more complicated. I made the standing model based on this toy", said Wang.
The inventor said he was hoping to launch the production of his machine on a bigger scale. But for now he has been showing it to school students to explaining its mechanics.
