Israel: 'Where are you?' - Netanyahu calls on P5+1 to impose 'snapback sanctions' against Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged that P5+1 leaders impose "snapback sanctions" on Iran after it announced that it will no longer stand by nuclear enrichment purity restrictions, mandated by the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) nuclear deal.

Speaking at a cabinet meeting in Jerusalem on Sunday, Netanyahu argued that Tehran "has violated its solemn promise under the UN Security Council not to enrich uranium beyond a certain level."

According to the Israeli prime minister, enriching uranium "is made for one reason and one reason only - it's for the creation of atomic bombs."

He said that the UN Security Council's five permanent members had vowed to impose "snapback sanctions" after it surpassed the agreed uranium limit," adding, "It just did. Where are you?"

Iran announced on Monday July 1 that it had already surpassed it's enriched uranium stockpile limit of 300kg (661 pounds) and said in an another statement on Sunday that they would be enriching uranium beyond the 3.67 percent limit set by the JCPOA.

Tehran reportedly intends to reach concentration levels of around 5 percent, in order to provide fuel for it's Busher nuclear power plant, while nuclear weapons require an enrichment level of over 90 percent.
