UK: Activists celebrate Assange's 48th birthday outside Belmarsh Prison
A small group of activists gathered outside London's high security Belmarsh prison on Wednesday to celebrate the 48th birthday of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who remains incarcerated in the facility.
Protesters sang 'Happy Birthday' to the imprisoned Australian national and even brought a cake complete with a message decrying his possible extradition.
Julian Assange, who is currently serving a 50-week sentence for breaching bail conditions, will face a five-day US extradition hearing next February. He was indicted on 18 counts including charges under the Espionage Act.
