Thousands of people took to the streets of Skopje to participate in the first ever Pride Parade in North Macedonia on Saturday, but were faced with anti-LGBTQI+ Rights counter-rallies.

The attendees of the parade were cheerfully marching, singing their heart outs to dancefloor classic songs and having a blast, trying to claim for LGBTQI+ rights in mostly conservative Republic of North Macedonia.

They happy and joyful parade happened simultaneously with a counter march of detractors of the 'Rainbow people's' rights, mostly integrated by religious authorities belonging to the Macedonian Orthodox Church.

The first ever Pride parade in Skopje came just one day after the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in New York City, an episode that sparked the movement for gay rights across the world.
