Former England footballer David Beckham arrived at Bromley Magistrates' Court in south London on Thursday to hear whether he will face penalties for a driving misdemeanour.

The ex-Real Madrid and Manchester United star stands accused of using his mobile phone while at the wheel of his Bentley in west London back in November.

Beckham, 43, could face a £200 fine (€233; US$260) and six penalty points on his license over the charge, which he pleaded guilty to.

He has previously escaped prosecution for speeding on a technicality.
