Ukraine: Tymoshenko says she might contest presidential election result
Ukrainian presidential candidate Yulia Timoshenko challenged the accuracy of the presidential election exit polls, saying that her campaign's internal polling put her in second place behind comedian Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
"We are convinced, based on the figures and facts, that those exit polls which are now pompously announcing that Petro Poroshenko is through the second round, were inaccurate," she said.
Tymoshenko said that she doesn't "dispute Volodymyr Zelenskiy [winning] - according to our exit poll, he won 27 percent of vote. Our team came the second with 20.9 percent, Petro Poroshenko won 17.5 percent."
The former prime minister said her team was to announce the "parallel counting of votes" after midnight local time.
According to the national exit poll, actor-turned-comedian Zelenskiy came first with 30.4 percent of vote, incumbent President Petro Poroshenko second with 17.8 percent and former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko third on 14.2 percent.
Zelenskiy and Poroshenko are now set to take part in the run-off election on April 21.
