Kenya: Protesters condemn gender-based violence on Intl. Women's Day
Hundreds of Kenyan women took to the streets of Nairobi's central business district on Friday to condemn gender-based violence on the International Women's Day.
Protesters marched from the capital's State Law Office and Department of Justice to Uhuru park chanting and occasionally blocking the busy district's traffic.
"The government is not taking care of women, there are so many women who've been killed in a span of six months," said a female protester Gerald Hayo.
Another protester, Karan Maliaka said that women should never stop fighting and "never be afraid to speak up".
