
Russia: Turkish vessels enter Novorossiysk for Blue Motherland drills
Turkish minesweeper Akchay and corvette Burgazada entered the port of Novorossiysk as a part of the Blue Motherland 2019 drills on Wednesday.
"Today in Novorossiysk we welcome the Turkish Navy vessels that have arrived on an official visit. We plan to conduct protocol events tomorrow. On 8 March, we are going to hold joint drills with them where we will practise coordination during joint manoeuvres,” Deputy Head of Novorossiysk Base Magaram Odigyuzelov said.
The drills have already been conducted in the Aegean, Black and Eastern Mediterranean Seas. More than one hundred vessels and Special Forces teams have taken part in the exercises, which has concerned Cyprus and Greece.
