Russia: Super-G winners comment on Universiade triumph
Austria's Jessica Gfrerer and Switzerland's Lukas Zippert secured Super-G titles at the 2019 Universiade in Krasnoyarsk on Sunday.
Following the competition, the Super-G medalists commented on their wins and shared their experience at this year's Universiade during press conferences.
Gfrerer noted that despite the fact that she did not feel as good during the run as she had hoped, she was "really happy" to be the first to arrive at the finish line.
Amelie Dupasquier, who snatched a silver medal, said that "everything is great. I mean the hospitality is perfect, and in the village everything is cool."
Commenting on his impressions of Krasnoyarsk, Super-G bronze medalist Yannick Chabloz said that he found Siberia "quite warm." He expressed hope that "it will get a bit colder next week, so that I can have a real feeling of [the] Siberian temperatures."
The 2019 Winter Universiade is an international student and youth competition, which is taking place from March 2 to 12, in the Russian city of Krasnoyarsk. This is the first time the event takes place in Russia.
