
Turkey: President Erdogan welcomes Greek PM Tsipras to Ankara
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara on Tuesday, as he arrived in the country for a two-day visit.
Enhancing bilateral relations between the countries reportedly topped the agenda of both leaders.
On Wednesday, Tsipras is scheduled to travel to the island of Heybeliada in the Sea of Marmara, where he will attend an Orthodox Mass and meet Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, the leader of Orthodox Christianity, at the Halki seminary.
Tsipras will become the first Greek prime minister to do so in 90 years.
