France: Vest-clad demo south of Paris warns Macron 'year of yellow' awaits
French President Emmanuel Macron was met by Yellow Vest protesters on his visit to the Parisian suburb of Evry-Courcouronnes on Monday.
Macron announced in December that he wanted to speak with citizens outside of the big cities of France, in what he called the 'grand debat national' over the future of France.
The visit to Evry-Courcouronnes was the first he made to a banlieu since the beginning of his tour.
Despite the French government suspending the tax hikes and announcing increases to the minimum wage, protests have continued.
Over 2,000 people have been arrested since the demonstrations began and at least ten have died, the vast majority of the deaths being due to collisions between protesters and vehicles.
