Australia: 'Dream come true' - Osaka strolls along beach after Open triumph
Japanese tennis champion Naomi Osaka, 21, said that winning the Australian open was 'a dream come true', after she took a walk along the beach in Melbourne on Sunday.
"When I was little I watched all the great players playing on Rod Laver [court] I've always dreamed of playing here, let alone winning, so I guess to finally accomplish that, it feels, feels definitely like a dream but also, I know that I've been training really hard for this moment", said Osaka, as she posed with the trophy at Brighton beach.
Osaka beat Czech Republic's Petra Kvitova 7-6 (7-2) 5-7 6-4 in Saturday's Australian Open final at Melbourne Park, becoming the world's top-ranked female tennis player..
