Italy: Inter Milan beats nine-man Napoli with stoppage time goal
Substitute Lautaro Martinez scored a late goal for hosts Inter Milan in the San Siro on Wednesday, sending Napoli's nine-man squad back home empty-handed.
Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly and Lorenzo Insigne were sent off with red cards, giving Inter the upper hand with Martinez securing the win for the Milanese squad in the second minute of stoppage time.
Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti blamed fans' alleged racial slurs for Koulibaly's expulsion, saying: "The referee had to understand his state of mind."
For his part, Inter Milan Manager Luciano Spalletti also condemned racism targeting players in Serie A.
With this loss, Napoli are now nine points behind first-place Juventus, who secured a 2-2 draw with Atalanta on Tuesday.
