Belgium: 'We cannot renegotiate' Brexit – Macron on Brussels EU summit
The present Brexit deal is "the best and the only deal possible" and could not be renegotiated, according to French President Emmanuel Macron speaking in Brussels on Friday.
"We can however clarify and reassure," added Macron who said he had made France’s position clear to the UK Prime Minister Theresa May during a ceremonial dinner on Thursday night.
Macron also emphasised the importance of an economic stabilisation function in the budget of the euro zone, something which is currently missing in the EU’s budget mandate.
