
France: Macron survives no confidence vote by margin of 219
Centre-left Socialists and the far-left party France Unbowed were 219 votes short to pass a motion of no confidence in French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday.
President of National Assembly Richard Ferrand read out the results after a 30-minute closed session.
The no confidence vote came after weeks of nation-wide 'Yellow vest' protests which undermined Macron's leadership.
