UK: Lebanese PM Hariri hopes new govt will be formed by end of year
Lebanese Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri claimed that Saudi Arabia will "take some serious steps towards Lebanon, helping Lebanon economically" when the new government is formed, while speaking at Chatham House in London on Thursday.
Hariri also added that the formation of the government is close and only "the last 100 metres" are left, expressing his hopes for it to happen by the end of this year.
Lebanese parliamentary elections were held in May this year and since then various political parties, including Hezbollah, were struggling to agree on a coalition.
