Spain: Spurs coach glows with pride as team reaches Champions League final 16
Tottenham Hotspur coach Mauricio Pochettino said he was "proud" of his team for reaching the Champions League knockout stage after drawing 1-1- against Barcelona on Tuesday, speaking at a press conference in the city's Camp Nou stadium on the same day.
"I am so happy, so proud. I remember always after Eindhoven no one believed in us. All said 'mission impossible,' impossible mission. But we are here. And we are on the next stage. I think it's a massive achievement for the club," Pochettino said.
Goal scorer Lucas Moura said he was "So happy to score, to help my teammates, to help my team."
Tottenham Hotspurs needed to match or do better than Inter Milan's result at home to PSV Eindhoven in order to advance to the final 16. Inter drew 1-1- with the Dutch team on Tuesday, allowing the Londoners to advance to the next round.
Barcelona were six points ahead of both sides and already comfortably through.
