
France: Strasbourg remains on lockdown following Christmas market shooting
The north-eastern French city of Strasbourg remained on lockdown on Tuesday evening following a terrorist attack near a Christmas market that left four people dead and at least 11 others injured.
Footage shows police and military personnel gathered by a blocked off road with Christmas lights visible still in the background.
The gunman, who was reportedly already known to the police, opened fire around 20:00 local time (19:00 GMT) and is being actively sought by the authorities.
Police have confirmed that the attacker is a 29-year-old male and a native of the city.
A terror investigation has been opened by a local prosecutor.
