USA: Audi sets sights on Tesla with new electric concept car
German carmaker Audi unveiled its new E-Tron GT concept car at the Los Angeles Automobility on Wednesday, with some calling it a ‘Tesla killer’.
It features a 800-volt battery system, which can charge 'from nearly dead to 80 percent' in 20 minutes, which tops other electronic vehicles on the market, including Tesla’s Superchargers, reports say.
Additionally, the E-Tron has 590 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (0 - 100 kmh) in 3.5 seconds.
The E-Tron is expected to hit the market by 2021, reports say, with pricing yet to be set.
