USA: 'Mail bomb' suspect appears in court in Miami
Mail bomb suspect Cesar Sayoc made his first court appearance on the matter in a Federal District Court in Miami on Monday.
Daniel Aaronson, a member of Cesar Sayoc's defence team, said "What was said today was that on Friday that we're going to have a pre-trial detention hearing and we will discuss the matter of removal at the same time."
"In essence, that is what happened today other than the judge entering an order that would allow us see our client face to face, as opposed to the conditions we've seen him under for the last few times that we've tried to talk to him," he added.
Earlier on Friday, the US Department of Justice announced that Sayoc was detained in connection to the recent string of mail-bomb deliveries to prominent political figures, including former US presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton.
