Residents reacted to the election of Jair Bolsonaro as President of Brazil on Monday, in Rio de Janeiro. Bolsonaro secured 55,1% of the votes, defeating the Labour's Party (PT) candidate Fernando Haddad.
Among his electors, Murilo da Silva has confidence that "He will change Brazil" because "He's not Islamic, he's a good guy". On the other hand, Gabriel Leonard believed that his election empowers "those who were already racist, homophobic."
Another voter, Adailton Andrade, celebrated that "despite all the fraud during the elections, we won."
Leftist candidate Fernando Haddad came in second place for the Worker's Party (PT) with 44.9 percent.
