Czech Republic: Arms sales to Saudi suspended pending assurances - Merkel
German Chancellor Angela Merkel arrived for a brief visit in Prague on Friday, following the invitation of Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis.
After holding talks behind closed doors at Babis' official residency, the Kramar's Villa, both leaders gave a joint press conference.
While answering journalists' questions about Brexit, Merkel said that the European Union wants "an orderly solution" to the UK's withdrawal, adding that "we are not dealing with the other scenarios at the moment."
Commenting on the case of the Saudi Arabian journalist Jamal Khashoggi, German Chancellor called his murder "an atrocity" and said that she "expressed this yesterday to the Saudi King during a phone call."
She also noted that Berlin would not export arms to Saudi Arabia, "until we get a real clarification, including of the backgrounds of this horrible crime."
