Russia: ‘Hysterics’ show West hasn't 'read the history books’ - Lavrov

Russian Federation, Moscow
October 12, 2018 at 18:34 GMT +00:00 · Published

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated his belief that Western countries were not overly familiar with history when it comes to dealing with Moscow as he spoke during an interview given to RT France, Paris Match and Le Figaro in the Russian capital on Friday.

“Russia is accused of all mortal sins, but nobody bothers to apply the law that was created specifically to deal with such cases,” Lavrov said. “If our Western colleagues are seriously hoping to throw us off balance with their hysterics, they haven’t read the history books very well.”

He added that Russia would choose mass media as a platform of reciprocal measures were the West to throw accusations at the Kremlin via the same medium.

“If it’s just temporary insanity and this episode of political madness passes on its own after they get everything out of their system, we will welcome them back to the legal framework,” he remarked.
