      Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte visited Yad Vashem, the World Holocaust Remembrance Center in Jerusalem on Monday.

      "Never again - may the world learn the lessons of this horrific and benighted period of human history," Duterte said at the site, where he also laid a wreath.

      The Philippines leader sparked huge controversy after comparing himself to Hitler in 2016, but later apologised and said his comments had been misunderstood.

      The visiting Philippine president also met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
