
UN: concern raised for 200,000 civilians in Syria
Spokesperson for the United Nations Secretary-General Stephane Dujarric voiced concern regarding hundreds of thousands of civilians suffering as the result of continued hostilities in Syria, during a press briefing in New York City on Monday.
"An estimated 200,000 people reportedly remain displaced," said Dujarric.
The UN spokesperson also spoke about citizens seeking refuge in neighbouring countries especially Jordan.
"UN has received 422 citizens from southern Syria who are at risk and are seeking asylum and solutions in Jordan," Dujarric pointed out.
