
Germany: Leaders 'relieved' ahead of Jan 7 grand coalition talks - Seehofer
Representatives from the CDU, CSU and SPD held a meeting on the new German coalition in Berlin on Wednesday.
CSU leader Horst Seehofer welcomed the results of the meeting, telling the press, “we can start Christmas relieved, and also the turn of the year.”
After the meeting, the parties released a joint written statement announcing that talks on the formation of a 'grand coalition' are set to begin on January 7.
