Kazakh president Nursultan Nazarbaev reminded his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin that they drank beer together in Chelyabinsk in 2002, at the XIV Forum of Interregional Cooperation of Russia and Kazakhstan in Chelyabinsk on Thursday. Nazarbaev reminisced over the early days of the annual interregional forum by asserting to his audience and Putin "it needs to be remembered that in 2002, here we arranged an annual trans-regional forum. As far as I remember, we drank beer somewhere in the street together."The Forum for Interregional cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia is held annually in Russia and Kazakhstan alternately. This year's forum was under the banner of "Development of Human Capital" and ended with a joint statement marking 25 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
