Now it all makes perfect CENTS! Prosecution exhibits alleged $2 mln bribe in Ulyukaev's caseMoscow's Zamoskvoretsky district court held yet another hearing on the case of former Russian Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukaev, where new supposed evidence of his guilt was presented, on Wednesday. This time the Russian Justice propped up its accusations by coming up with the tangible evidence - a box of dollars which the ex-minister had, allegedly, received as a bribe from the the Head of Rosneft.According to the journalists, the state prosecution's representative brought a huge cardboard box wrapped in a scotch tape and a silver cellophane bag filled with bundles of dollars. Soon after the box had been placed on the table, one of the prosecutors cut off the tape and started taking out piles of dollars. These actions caused jokes on part of Ulyukaev`s defenders. "Solitaire is being laid out," said one of them. The ex-minister declined to answer the prosecutor's question whether he had received the money, presented in the court. His lawyers stressed that there were no fingerprints on the banknotes belonging to their client, that is why, from their perspective, the money show didn't make any sense: the ex-minister just did not know what was in the bag. After the box's examination had been completed, the prosecutors put the money back in the box and carried it away.Ulyukayev was arrested in November 2016 by officers from the Russian Investigative Committee on suspicion of accepting a $2 million (€1,695,740) bribe as part of a ministry deal regarding Rosneft's takeover of major regional oil company Bashneft.
