SOT, Heather Nauert, US State Department Spokesperson (English): "Of course, yeah. Sure."

SOT, Matt Lee, Journalist (English): "One, is it – is it true or false that he’s thinking about resigning or leaving the administration early?"

SOT, Heather Nauert, US State Department Spokesperson (English): "That is false."

SOT, Matt Lee, Journalist (English): "Okay."

SOT, Heather Nauert, US State Department Spokesperson (English): "We have spoken with the Secretary. The Secretary has been very clear he intends to stay here at the State Department. We have a lot of work that is left to be done ahead of us. He recognizes that. He’s deeply engaged in that work. We have meetings scheduled. He has meetings scheduled for the rest of the week here in Washington. He does, however, serve at the pleasure of the President, just as any cabinet official would."

SOT, Heather Nauert, US State Department Spokesperson (English): "Well, he does have the ability to go away for a few days on his own."

SOT, Journalist (English): "So he’s just on vacation right now?"

SOT, Heather Nauert, US State Department Spokesperson (English): "Just taking a little time off. He’s got a lot of work. He just came back from that mega-trip overseas, as you all well know. Many of you were there with the G-20 and his other travel as well. So he’s entitled to take a few days himself."

US State Department Spokesperson Heather Nauert rejected rumours that US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is planning to resign, when questioned by members of the press in Washington DC, on Tuesday.

She stressed that Tillerson "has been very clear he intends to stay here at the State Department. We have a lot of work that is left to be done ahead of us. He recognizes that. He’s deeply engaged in that work."

Nauert dismissed resignation rumours surrounding the secretary by maintaining that he was just taking some time off. She said, "He’s got a lot of work. He just came back from that mega-trip overseas, as you all well know. Many of you were there with the G-20 and his other travel as well. So he’s entitled to take a few days himself."
