Ukraine: Poroshenko kicks off Ukraine-EU Summit alongside 'hungry' Juncker
The Ukraine-EU Summit was kicked off by a press conference with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker in Kiev, Wednesday.
Juncker informed the journalists he would be brief in his address, as he was "very very very hungry."
Poroshenko then spoke to say it was "important that today we can outline new strategic prospects that we will try to reach. I'm talking about relations between progress on the road of reforms that Ukraine is undergoing and the approximation of Ukraine towards European Union."
"A year and a half ago, a large number of politicians in this building absolutely did not believe in the reality of the ratification of the Association Agreement and the introduction of a visa-free regime. And only our enthusiasm, the optimistic enthusiasm, with the help of our friends and partners, made it possible with the help of our friends and partners," he concluded.
