A ceremony honouring Soviet soldiers that died at a Nazi labour camp was held in Sosnowice, Friday, on the outskirts of the eastern Polish town of Golczewo.

Russian, Polish and German researchers discovered the remains of 180 bodies at the site, 167 of which they were able to identity. Twelve members of the victims' families attended the ceremony.

Russian General Consul in Gdansk Alexander Karachevtsev, Marshal of West Pomerania Olgierd Geblewicz, President of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship Federation of Veterans' Associations and Former Political Prisoners Janina Koptas were among those present at the memorial.
