During the meeting, Kolokoltsev stressed that "today the cooperation between our federal agencies is developing in the format of the Russian-Austrian working group, [which has been set up to facilitate] interaction [between the two countries] in the fight against organised crime."
The Russian interior minister added that "the fact that representatives of the Prosecutor's Office participated in the meeting of this working group underscores that everything is being done to strengthen this cooperation."
In turn, Sobotka stressed that "we are facing great challenges" and that "Russia is our essential partner." He noted, "Russia's participation is absolutely necessary. It is imperative to ensure security in Europe. Whether we talk about international crime, terrorism, drug trafficking or weapons, these issues cannot be solved without Russia."
On February 11, 2016, a programme was adopted aimed at the implementation of 26 joint projects worth a total of €4 billion ($4.4 billion) between Russia and Austria.
