Germany: Far-right and anti-deportation protesters picket Merkel in Dusseldorf
Far-right protesters and anti-deportation demonstrators picketed German Chancellor Angela Merkel's visit to Dusseldorf, Thursday evening, just some days before the local elections in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Around ten members of the far-right Die Republikaner party and ten people protesting against deportations to Afghanistan were separated by police.
The event was organised by the Rheinische-Post newspaper in which they traditionally invite prominent figures for an interview with the editor-in-chief.
