Netherlands: ICJ rejects provisional measures against Russia for financing of terrorism
The International Court of Justice rejected Ukraine's request to introduce provisional measures against Russia for the Suppression of Financing terrorism, in The Hague on Wednesday.
Judge Ronny Abraham stated that the Ukraine has not provided the court with evidence and therefore "the court concludes that the conditions required for the indication of provisional measures in respect of the rights alleged by Ukraine on the basis on the basis of the ICSFT are not met."
However the court ruled that Russia "must, in accordance, with its obligations under the international convention on the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination," conserve Crimean Tartar institutions and ensure the availability of education in Ukranian.
Abraham called on both Ukraine and Russia to "refrain from any action which risk aggravating or extending the dispute before the court or make it more difficult to resolve."
