
Kyrgyzstan: Supreme Eurasian Economic Council summit kicks off in Bishkek
Russian President Vladimir Putin and other Supreme Eurasian Economic Council (SEEC) leaders kicked off the organisation's summit in Bishkek on Friday.
The host country’s President Almazbek Atambayev warmly welcomed Putin and his other guests, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan as well as Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko.
Later on the day the leaders will also attend an informal meeting of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), where terrorism and security issues are expected to be on the agenda of the talks.
