
Russia: Three killed in shootout with police at checkpoint in Dagestan
Three people were killed in a shoot-out with Federal Security Service (FSB) officers and Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) officers in the Kumtorkalinsky District of Dagestan on Tuesday night.
The three individuals were travelling in a car and had refused to stop when law enforcement authorities attempted to pull them over to check their identification documents. The people inside the car then opened fire on the officers and all three were eventually killed in a heavy exchange of fire.
No other injuries or deaths were reported.
The scene of the shooting is currently being examined by security service specialists and an investigation has been launched.
