
Greece: Tsipras calls for repairing Germany relations during Steinmeier visit
Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras welcomed German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to Athens, Friday as German politician arrived for a two day official visit.
During the meeting, Tsipras addressed to Steinmeier, saying it "is very honorable for us that one of your last trips as foreign minister was to Greece and one of your first trips as president is again to Greece". He said that German-Greek relationship "have worsened in recent years and the culture and art can be the best bridge to recapture the thread of relations between our peoples and our countries"
German President and his Greek counterpart Prokopis Pavlopoulos will open Dokumenta 14 art exhibition on Saturday. Dokumenta takes place every five years in the German city of Kassel, but in 2017 Athens was chosen to host one of the biggest modern art events.
