USA: Senator Merkley delivers speech against Trump's Supreme Court nominee Gorsuch
US Senator from Oregon Jeff Merkley held a marathon speech in front of the US Senate in Washington DC, Wednesday, arguing against President Donald Trump's Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch.
Merkley expressed hope that the Senate would find a way "to rise above partisanship or political party, and pursue the national interest," despite not being optimistic after seeing "so little of desire to strengthen our institutions."
"We could take this train off the tracks. Because of the shadow hanging over the presidency, because of the far right views of Neil Gorsuch, because it's a stolen seat and we haven't remedied that situation with a plan," finished Merkley.
