SOT, Journalist (Russian): "Did he study here?"

Yusupjanova (Kyrgyz): "No, he didn’t."

Journalist (Russian): "I mean, did he study here in school?"

Yusupjanova (Kyrgyz): "Yes he studied at the local school and his brothers go to that school now."

Dilorom Yusupjanova, a former neighbour of the suspected St. Petersburg metro bomber, remembers the suspected attacker as “a good boy,” speaking outside her home in the village of On-Adir in the Osh Region, Tuesday.

A few hours before, Russian state investigators had named 22-year-old Akbarzhon Dzhalilov as the prime suspect in the attack, describing him as a Russian citizen who was born in Kyrgyzstan.

Recalling Dzhalilov as a child, Yusupjanova said that he was “a good boy, a good one since childhood,” and that she “hadn't seen him do bad things.” She added, “Well, we didn’t see anything wrong with him.”

Earlier on Tuesday, Russian Minister of Health Veronika Skvortsova confirmed that 14 people had died with 49 remaining in hospitals after an unidentified explosive device went off between the Institute of Technology and Sennaya Ploschad metro stations at 14:40 local time (11:40 GMT) on Monday. Dzhalilov is thought to be among the dead. A second unexploded bomb was reportedly deactivated at Ploschad Vostaniya station.

Russia's Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation into the incident and a three-day period of mourning has been declared by St. Petersburg authorities, beginning from Tuesday.
