UK: 'Tories are simply scared' – SNP Deputy insists referendum will happen
Scottish National Party (SNP) Deputy Leader Angus Robertson assured that a second Scottish independence referendum "is going to happen" saying "the Tories are simply scared" at the SNP Spring Conference in Aberdeen on Friday.
Robertson stated, "It is clear from the Prime Minister's panicked response to the Scottish government's decision to rightly give people in Scotland a choice over Scotland's future, that the Tories are simply scared of the people's choice."
Robertson accused UK Prime Minister Theresa May of "effectively trying to block the people of Scotland having a choice over their future" calling it "a democratic outrage".
May has rejected demands made by Scottish First Minister and Leader of the SNP Nicola Sturgeon for a second Scottish independence referendum in light of Brexit.
Sturgeon is expected to give the closing address at the conference tomorrow.
