UK: Immigrants 'not all just waiters serving you coffee' states EU migrant at Brexit protest

Around 150 protesters rallied at Parliament Square in London, Monday evening, to defend EU migrants and call for law makers to approve the House of Lords' amendments to Article 50.

Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell gave a speech where he thanked EU migrants for their contribution to British society and called for solidarity: "We will not let these Tories divide us. We will not allow them to split our communities and provoke the xenophobia that they’ve done so far" he said.

An EU migrant and charity worker named Stella also gave a speech: "Contrary to some very patronising comments that have been made in the past few weeks, immigrants are not all just waiters serving you coffee in some fancy, retro East London coffee shop" she said. "We are the fabric that makes this great country this bit greater."

MPs rejected the Lords amendments to the Article 50 bill on Monday, one of which would have offered EU citizens living in the UK the unilateral right to remain in the country.
