Sebastian Kurz, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Austrian Foreign Minister (English): "Not today."

Reporter (English): "But maybe in the coming days? Avdeevka, Yasinovataya?"

Sebastian Kurz, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Austrian Foreign Minister (English): "I was twice in Ukraine this year - once in eastern Ukraine and once in Kiev."

The new OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Austrian Foreign Minister, Sebastian Kurz, evaded giving a direct answer when asked about his plans to visit Donbass and its surrounding areas, during his visit to the Ergneti settlement situated on the South Ossetia-Georgia border, Friday.

"Not today," was Kurz's answer to the reporter's question about his visit to the conflict zone, where the situation has been deteriorating in the last days. He went on to say, "I was twice in Ukraine this year - once in eastern Ukraine and once in Kiev."

Kurz came to the Ergneti settlement to attend the Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) meeting, during which he stressed that "we want to help rebuild trust between the participating states of the OSCE area."

Kurz, who became chairman of the OSCE on January 1, 2017, is on a two-day visit to Georgia, South Ossetia, Moldova and Transnistria (Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic/PMR). Earlier in the day, Kurz has reportedly met with Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze in Tbilisi.
